Hi! Thanks for stopping by, I'm Noel (though my family knows me as Jeff Byrd). I live and create in Greenville, which is in Upstate South Carolina. What gets me out of bed to put pencil to paper? It’s pretty simple, but it means everything: I want to create just one drawing that brings a genuine moment of peace to whoever sees it. That’s the heart of it.

My whole art story started with my mom showing me how to color back in 4th grade. It just clicked. From that moment on, I grabbed every chance to draw anything. School art classes? I took them all, Art 1 through 4, plus AP Art. I was lucky enough to spend two years at the Fine Arts Center and even got into that great summer program at the Governor's School for the Arts back in '83. College took me to the Greenville Museum School of Art for an Associate's in Commercial Art, then on to Atlanta College of Art for Graphic Design and Illustration.

Life, as it does, took a turn. I landed a solid day job as a Media Specialist for the Greenville Hospital System (totally unrelated to drawing most days!). But here's the thing: no matter how busy life got, I never stopped drawing. It wasn't always easy, but I truly feel blessed with this deep-down desire to create. Whether it’s a portrait, a beloved car, a family home, a sports hero, or just something that catches my eye, I’m always making something for others or just for me.

Why keep at it? Because I believe, deep in my bones, that if I just keep drawing, keep creating, I’ll eventually make that one picture. The one that fulfills my purpose and offers a little peace to anyone who looks at it. It’s a journey, and I’m still walking it, right here in Greenville. Come see what I’m making!
